The mission of the American Mustang Foundation is to educate the public about the history and plight of the American Mustang to improve the mustangs’ quality of life in the setting of a community-centered ranch facility.
Goals & Objectives
Implementation of the American Mustang Foundation's Legacy Ranch Program is to be guided by our established goals and objectives. The following topics address goals established for the American Mustang Foundation:
EDUCATION
Educate the public about the value of the wild horse, bring awareness to their plight, and promote the wild horse.
Educate the public about the historic, genetic, biological and social value of the wild horse.
Bring awareness and solutions to the plight of America’s last remaining wild horses.
Promote the wild horse through educational, recreational, and tourism opportunities.
IMPROVE THE MUSTANGS' QUALITY OF LIFE
Encourage improved management and resources for horses still living on the range.
Support a grass-roots effort to efficiently and successfully influence changes necessary in current and future management and resources available for the betterment of America’s wild horse.
Reduce the population of Mustangs in short-term holding facilities.
Encourage returning wild horses to the range where possible.
Increase the “adoptability” of the wild horse by demonstrating his ability to adapt and excel at domestic disciplines.
FISCAL SUSTAINABILITY
Develop facilities and programs that will support, facilitate and fund our overall mission and benefit the community.

Work with local equestrian organizations, government agencies, and community organizations to promote our region’s recreation opportunities and tourism by providing equestrian-related facilities that will support, facilitate and fund our overall mission.

Work with government agencies, community organizations, and education institutions to promote our region’s agricultural and rural heritage and resources by providing facilities for agricultural education and agri-tourism that will support, facilitate and fund our overall mission.
ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
Develop and manage facilities to protect the working agricultural character of the land and protect, conserve and restore the physical, natural, historical, and archaeological resources.
Develop a long-term Management Plan incorporating Best Management Practices in the planning, development, use and management of facilities to protect, conserve and restore physical, natural, historical, and archaeological resources.
Our next step is to implement our plan to achieve these goals and objectives.
