Educate the Public
The American Mustang Foundation seeks to educate the public about the value of the wild horse, bring awareness to their plight and promote the wild horse.
In order to bring change to the conditions affecting their welfare, there is specific need to increase public awareness of the values of America’s wild horses and burros, the impacts of urban suburban sprawl and domestic livestock on their range, and current government policies that are reducing the viability of wild populations. To address this locally and regionally, the AMF will develop a Living History Museum and Exhibit to demonstrate to and educate the public, especially children, on the historical contributions, the present-day situation, and every-day usefulness and ability of the mustang.
The museum will feature mustang memorabilia and artifacts, a still-life exhibit, an agricultural and mustang heritage time-line, and local history. The museum will also portray wild horses worldwide - their history, their influence and their environment. The exhibit will also provide information about the programs of the American Mustang Foundation…how they work, their purpose, and how the public can get involved and make a difference!
